Ministry
@ the Wilderness Trail Festival
Each fall, thousands gather in downtown Christiansburg for the Wilderness Trail Festival—a full day of fun for the whole family. With live music, local food, and handcrafted goods, the festival celebrates the history and culture of Montgomery County and the old Wilderness Trail, the path that once carried pioneers westward through our region.
We’re setting up a booth this year to engage our community with the hope of Jesus. As hundreds of people walk by, we’ll offer them a bottle of water and a reason to consider life’s biggest questions. Each bottle will be tagged with a QR code that leads them to answers on our church website.
Look for the CBC A-Frame sign in front of our booth. It invites people to grab a free water and engage with a deeper question about faith.
Here’s the plan. . .
Purpose
- Point people to Jesus through genuine, Spirit-led conversations.
- Share info about our church, where people can hear and experience the Gospel.
We will start with free water, but our goal is to share living water (John 4).
What We Are Offering
-
Free bottled water with custom tags that ask one of 5 big apologetics questions.
-
QR codes on each tag that take people to answers on our website.
-
Water flavoring options in three jars on a table in front of the booth—fun and simple!
-
A table with brochures and event info about Christiansburg Baptist Church (CBC).
The tags are durable and designed to clip onto a keychain—something people can carry with them.
What You Will Be Doing
Keep it simple:
-
Hand out water
-
Have conversations as the Holy Spirit leads
-
Listen and love
-
Look for authentic ways to share Jesus as the opportunity comes
-
Offer to pray if it feels appropriate
Simply be faithful and trust the Lord to do the growing!
