"Unity" Over "Security"
This is normally the place where I introduce our text for this Sunday. And I am very excited about our final mindset change for dealing with conflict from Paul’s letter to Philemon (Unity Over Security). But I, instead, wanted to take this opportunity to invite you to join us as we minister to our neighbors in need in Narrows. In a previous email we discussed ways that our church is already involved with disaster relief initiatives in our region. And we also provided details for additional ways you can be involved. If you did not receive that email or need more information about SBCV or Giles Disaster Relief, please reach out to the church office. In recent days, I have spoken to several individuals ministering in the Narrows community. The need in that area is substantial and will continue for many months to come. Some families have literally lost everything. At this point, organizations serving families in that area are in need of non-perishable food items. We are planning a delivery to that area the week of October 20 and would like to invite you to participate by donating items like canned vegetables and peanut butter. We will collect these items in the Fellowship Hall from now until Sunday, October 20th and deliver them later that week. God has richly blessed us. And this is our opportunity to now be a blessing.
